Every wedding is different, every bride has a dream of how she wants her special day. That’s why I take the time to talk with you about your wedding, and to assist with the planning, organising and directing of your event, so that you, your family and friends will be able to truly relax and enjoy your celebration.
There are many factors that can make your wedding day memorable for all the right reasons. Wedding DJ entertainment is one of them.
I utilize a stepped approach in the organisation of your wedding entertainment, all these steps ensure that you receive the highest quality service and value for your wedding.
I offer a free consultation meeting with you even before you book me, so you will see the attention to detail that I have. We will discuss your wedding day in full, what you envisage, and agree on the DJ services and set up you require.
A setup to suit your needs, and to sit aesthetically in your venue will be discussed. You can have a small discreet setup, where it is nearly invisible, or you can have a regular sized setup, or you can have a full on club style setup. It all depends on your vision of your wedding celebration. I can also provide wedding ceremony music, background music for your wedding breakfast, and also a special or dramatic entrance song for when you are announced into your venue for the first time. Either way you, the bride, must always be the center of attention.
Any musical tastes, genres, special songs etc. can also be discussed. I have a huge collection of music, spanning all the decades, and all genres.
When you confirm booking (a booking fee will be required), we will gather all the important details of your wedding day, names and timeline and record them on your contract. I will also visit the venue and discuss with the events manager there to see the access, layout and setup that will be required to enhance your venue. If you have a band I will also contact them to ensure that we are all pushing in the right direction.
I am easily contactable through phone - 0818 333 877 or 086 2322 999, text and emails - [email protected], to discuss any ideas or plans you may have.
Sometimes I may be performing at an event when you ring, so please do leave a message if I don’t answer straight away. I will call you back at my earliest opportunity.
We will also have a final meeting a week or two before your wedding to ensure that the details I have on the contract are still current and correct, and discuss anything else that you wish.
Each and every one of my clients are treated as if they were my only one, and I only do one event per day, so on your special occasion, I am fully concentrated on you and your event.
Depending on the services you have booked, access into the venue, and layout, it can take anything from 50 minutes to 4 or 5 hours to setup.
A small set up after a band can be 50 minutes (although I normally arrive and set up at the same time as the band causing minimal disruption to your partying!). A full set up with uplighting and projection in a large room upstairs can take up to 4 hours to set up and tidy.
Uplighting on its own can take 2 to 3 hours to install. Either way, I always arrive at your venue with plenty of time to spare. Some all day events can easily become a 20 to 24 hour working day for me!!
To assist in weddings where space is confined when the DJ can only setup during the room change-over, I have purchased specialist equipment, such as a wheel & winch stand.
The stand can be assembled outside the room, with playout system and lighting effects in place, and during the room change-over I can just simply wheel it into place in your room, winch up the lighting effects, assemble speakers, then assemble starcloth booth, so once I enter the room I can be ready to play in about 15 minutes!
I also rate appearance and presentation very highly, as I do provide a professional DJ service.
It’s a sad fact of the DJ industry that there are many operators who don’t seem to place much importance on the appearance of themselves or their equipment relative to the effort and dedication other such wedding professionals such as the venue and its staff, have in their presentation of the room, creating a beautifully laid out romantic setting for your room for the wedding reception.
Please ask to see pictures of the setup, and also meet the wedding DJ who will be performing at your special, once in a lifetime, wedding day.
Also something to keep in mind is that you have also paid your photographer to take photographs that will forever capture your special day. The DJ and the DJ setup can also be captured in these once in a lifetime shots, especially for your first dance.
I will be appropriately dressed (as discussed with you at our planning meeting).
The appearance and layout of the wedding DJ setup will be also tidy, well presented, and be a safe working area, with all visible wires gaffa taped down on the floor, or velcro tied down stands.
The main set up will be tidily presented and surrounded by a starcloth booth. Any further ancillary set up areas (projection) will be tidy and also be surrounded by starcloth.
The professional grade Bose speakers used are elegant and unobtrusive, and deliver a truly crisp clean full sound, while still allowing your guests to have conversations without shouting at each other!
The lighting effects are also professional grade, and are fully controllable intelligent lighting, which can be controlled by a system called DMX. I can control the colour, pattern, speed, and even direction of these lights, altering the feel and style of lighting to suit the occasion at the flick of a few switches. For example, your first dance might require gentle, smooth, romantic effects (white starts, or pink and white roses), and later on during the party a faster, more energetic, and colourful show is needed. Infact, any colour or shape that is present on the lighting can be used! The first dance lightshow can be discussed with you at your free consultation meeting.
The proper selection of music played by the wedding dj at the right time, in the appropriate sequence and at an acceptable volume can really help make your magical day complete.
Requests are more than welcome, during the event I am easily approachable to discuss any part of the event also, if timelines need to be changed etc.
As with all my clients, your feedback is greatly appreciated. I will forward you on a testimonial for you to complete a couple of weeks after your wedding, when you have returned from your well deserved honeymoon and settled into married life!
Apart from the DJing, there are other services that I offer for your wedding, to make it a truly unique and memorable occasion.
Uplighting is used to enhance the atmosphere of your venue and wedding, where the colour can be set to match your colour theme, or the colour of your bridesmaids dresses, or the colour of the sashes you have on your chair covers, or even your favourite colour.
The Uplighters are also fully controllable, all connected back to a controller at the DJ setup, where your choice of colours can be set, and controlled with speed and brightness. They can even be set to change in time with the beat of the music!
This service, as with all my services, will be discussed at your free consultation meeting. Further information and pictures of Uplighting and Uplighters can be seen here.
Projection is also available to show slideshows of the both of you growing up, your early relationship together, and even photographs from your wedding ceremony itself (with agreement from your photographer of course). These are very effectual when used during your meal, or during your speeches.
A screen above the DJ setup can also be supplied to run slideshows or videos described above also.
The slideshows are a great way to show your guests the how your relationship has grown, and can be a real focal and talking point!
Call me to discuss this!
All this helps make your wedding truly unique, delightfully memorable, fun, and you’ll remember it fondly for years to come. It’s your special day, your vision, and your dreams!
Selecting the right wedding entertainment is one of the most important decisions you will have to make for your forthcoming wedding, it can easily make or break the night. It is also one thing that your guests will remember the most, as they will certainly remember if they had a good time or not.
At a minimum your wedding DJ should require a booking fee and provide you with a written signed contract and invoice. If they don’t there is nothing binding them to appear at your wedding. If a DJ is serious about your event, and his business, they will at least require a booking fee, and supply you with a signed contract.
Why settle for less? After all, you have probably spent thousands to create your special, once in a lifetime day,.…on your dress, on the flowers, on the catering, on the photographer, on a videographer, car hire and cake. You have invited your family and friends to a huge celebration of your new marriage showing your love for each other, and run the risk of ruining the whole night by not booking a professional DJ.
